Visiting relatives here and there

Today is the sixth day of Lunar New Year, have been eating and visiting relatives non-stop. This year is a good year for me as luck is smiling at me. I had been winning a bit when playing mahjong.

Golden pillow 933 (yummy chicken or mutton curry baked completely inside a fluffy loaf ), we had to wait for almost 3 hours for the food to delivery to our house. The food is yummy, esp fish curry, give it a try, u will fall in love with it.



During visit of my cousin, we saw her grandchildren and they are so adorable. While I was looking at the photo, my brother went to play with the kids. The little girl, En En is so smart, she won’t let stranger to carry her or take any food from stranger. I am so surprise that my brother is good at handling kids, he managed to coax her and allow him to carry her. At the same time, my brother showed me the drawing that was drawn by the little girl’s brother, Wei Wei. He is good in drawing and which item he had drawn represent something that around him. My parents also liked Wei Wei, he is not just smart and also handsome.

Reunion

It is a practice for Chinese to eat reunion dinner together with the whole family. Each year, I was in charge of preparing the steamboat for it. Preparing the dishes for steamboat was fast and easily but the difficult part was preparing the soup base. In order to have a nice and thick soup base, a lot of ingredients are needed to add together and boil over for at least 2 hours. I am too lazy to do that so I used chicken stock cubes and soup of canned seafood for my soup base. The outcome of it still not bad, just slightly too salty, maybe I should use only 1 cube instead of 2.

Luck is not with us...

Yesterday (24 Jan 09) morning, my cousin told us that his car's tyre was punctual and we made fun of him saying:" Your car plate number will strike first prize of lottery, must buy."

In the noon, my brother, Crystal and I went to Jussco @ Bukit Indah to shop for Lunar New Year things. Before we went out, my cousin told us to drive carefully as during year end there were alot of car accidents. What he had told us came truth, so sad about it. When we were on our way home, a car bump into our car as didnt stop in time. Lucky no one is hurt in this accident, thank god for protecting us. The driver told us that he thought that we would increase our spreed to dash across as the yellow light just turn red and he will also follow us. It was so dangerous to speed across.

My cousin was very angry with this as Lunar New Year is 2 days away and we had created such a mess out. As we can only send our car for repair on 2nd of Feb and the car's appearance look bad.

When at the police station, we recalled back that 5 years ago I had met an accident on christmas eve somewhere near the location that we had met accident yesterday. Lucky this time round was not as bad as last time.

After dinner my brother took ptiy of the dogs which raised by my neighbour and decided to throw the chicken bones for them to eat. He broke the kitchen window when he was throwing the bones through it. On no...my mum was so angry about it. As it look so ugly, just liked someone who had lost their front tooth. We had no choice but to remove the a piece of window glass from our storeroom to fix it into the kitchen window. Why so unlucky......Hope that luck will be smilling at us soon.

Rush here and there just for Lunar New Year.....

A week before Lunar New Year, we had been very busy rushing here and there to shop for new year goods. Everywhere was crowed with people, queue up for fitting room; quene up for payment...For example, on thursday, my cousin, aunty, mum and I went to salon for hair cut and scalp treament and we took about 5 hours to get our hair done. Luckily, we were the first batch of customers to reach there and slowly more and more customers came in for their hair cut and treatment. If we didnt reach there early, I cant image how long I will need to wait for my turns.

Prices had gone up so high compare to usuallydue to high demand for goods. In Singapore, the price of pork had went up 50 % more due to low supply from Austrlia. It was so shock to hear that as now the ecomoy was poor and alot people had pay cut or out of jobs, how could the sellers increase so much.

Will be missing you....

One of my close friend had went back to indonesia this saturday (17 Jan 09), will be missing her so much. Many people had said we were more like mother and daugther rather than friend, HAIZ, that make me sound so old. Back 3 years ago, when Evelyn had just came to Singapore for study, she looked innocent and sweet girl and now she had changed to a beatiful lady. Will be miss you....my baby girl.

Dont you,guys find that she had changed so much....became prettier....
