Lunar New Year Mission

A day before meeting up my friends on Saturday (10 Jan 09) for catch up and shopping, my mum asked me to check up the price of NewMoon’s Australia abalone and will there be any promotion. As she is planning to get a few cans for my sister-in-law’s family, so I can help her to buy when I am out for my gathering. Looking at the website of NTUC fairprice and Coldstorge, the given price of NewMoon’s Australia abalone per can cost S$43.80. There will be a promotion going on during the weekend for NewMoon’s New Zealand abalone, the usual price per can is S$39.80 and now the promotion price is S$35.90. We can save up S$3.90 for per can. My friend who is working at supermarket told me that Australia abalone is better than New Zealand abalone in term of the quality. I think I should listen to my friend’s advice and buy Australia abalone as she had better knowledge than me in it since she is working at supermarket.

Looking over the website to find where I can buy NewMoon’s Australia abalone for a cheaper price. Forum from http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/, suggest going over Victoria Dried food centre or Fu Lu Shou Complex to get can abalone at cheaper price.

On Saturdsy, before meeting my friend, I went to Victoria Dried food centre to check up the price of it. Oh My god, only 10am and the place already crowded with people buying dried food and to my surprise, per can of NewMoon’s Australia abalone cost S$40. WOW…it is cheap but I didn’t get any as I want to compare the price over at Fu Lu Shou Complex (nearby Vicotria Dried Food Centre).
Heavy human traffic at the dried food shop of Fu Lu Shou Complex, customers were shouting from one end to another for sale assistants and it was a competed mess over there but NewMoon’s Australia abalone cost S$39 per can.

Without thinking much, I bought 2 cans of it and I had saved almost S$10 over it.

Met up my friends and went shopping at orchard. In the evening, every food outlets at Paragoon shopping mall were crowded with people except for Delifrance cafe so my friends and I decided to have over dinner over there. A quick dinner for us so we can continued our shopping right after dinner. I had placed an order of Salmon baked rice set but after 15minutes later , the staff told me that they had ran out of rice, is it alright that i wait for 30 minutes for my meal. I was so mad about it, the cafe was not pack with people and why cant the staff tell me immediately after placing my order. Now, I had to change my order and waited for another 15 minutes before serving my dish. The soup of the day was very salty and the main course tasted plain Wasted so much time over it for waiting, if not I can do more shopping. My friends and I went disapponted with the food and service over there. We won't go there again for meal.

Before heading home, I went to carrefour at Plaza Singapura to check up the price of mandarin oranges and end up buying mini sugar tangerines.

Mini sugar tangerines cost only S$2 per kg, it was very cheap compare the one that I bought in pasa malan in Johor which cost RM$7 per kg. Mini sugar tangerines were very sweet and I should have buy more.
